On Tuesday, the naira continued to appreciate against the dollar in the official foreign currency market.

According to data from the Central Bank of Nigeria, the naira strengthened more on Tuesday, reaching N1,362.55 per dollar, up from N1,364.83 on Monday.
This means that the naira appreciated by N2.28 against the dollar on a daily basis.
Meanwhile, on the black market, the naira held steady at N1,425 per dollar on Tuesday, the same rate as on Monday.
The move comes as the country’s external reserves increased to $51.94 billion as of August 3, 2026.
