Clubs from the Nigeria National League (NNL) have been encouraged by NNL Chairman Mr. George Aluo to strive for a spot in the quarterfinals of the 2026 President Federation Cup.
In this year’s tournament, four NNL teams have advanced to the quarterfinals.
The teams in question are Basira FC, Kada Warriors, Sokoto United, and Adamawa United.
Plateau United will play Basira FC at the Abuja Goal Project, while Sokoto United will play Adamawa United at the Abuja Area 3 Stadium.
The venue for the encounter between Wikki Tourists and Kada Warriors is the Abuja Area 3 Stadium.
The entire tournament is set to take place on June 6, 2026.
Bringing up the impressive performance of lower-tier teams in previous editions, Aluo pushed the teams to perform well.
“It’s a sign of the quality of the second-tier league that, like the last three seasons, four NNL sides are in the Round of 16 of this year’s President Federation Cup,” Aluo was cited as saying by Newstap.
“And I encourage them to give it their all in Saturday’s matches and keep the momentum going.”
