On Thursday, the ceremony was officiated by David Umahi, Minister of Works, and Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, Governor of Gombe state, in the name of President Bola Tinubu.

According to Umahi, the initiative is one of the infrastructure objectives of the federal government.

He asserts that Hi-Tech Construction Company will construct and dualise the 125-kilometer road utilising rigid pavement technology.

After the governor requested that the project be routed through the Northern Bypass, the minister elaborated that the project’s scope had been expanded to 139 kilometres.

The highway, according to Governor Inuwa, would serve as a social and economic corridor connecting the Northeast with the rest of Nigeria and its neighbours.

Trade, transportation, and regional connectivity are all anticipated to be enhanced by the project, he said.

The road’s initial construction was in 1962, and it was resurfaced in 1976. We are grateful to President Tinubu for green-lighting the project, and the governor assured the president and federal officials that they will collaborate with contractors to finish the project on schedule and according to specifications.
