Zagazola Makama, a security analyst, reported the development in a post on X on Saturday.

According to the article, the operation was carried out by VCRU agents working alongside military personnel.

The joint security force was alleged to have acted on credible intelligence of armed bandits moving through Gambanda Forest around 2:30 a.m. on June 20.

“The criminals were forced to abandon the rustled livestock due to superior firepower and coordinated response from the security operatives,” the source claimed.

During the operation, the crew successfully recovered 329 cattle and 175 sheep previously stolen by the robbers.

“One AK-47 rifle and 15 rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition were also recovered at the scene,” Makama said.
