Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has issued a curfew in ten local government districts.
According to our correspondent, neighbours have expressed concerns about the park.
It was discovered that the park is where the children and teachers who were just kidnapped are being held captive by bandits.
Our correspondent has learned that 39 pupils and seven instructors were kidnapped last month in some towns in the state’s Oriire Local Government Area.
On Tuesday, Makinde announced a curfew in the ten local government units surrounding the park.
Professor Musibau Babatunde, Secretary to the Oyo State Government, released a statement declaring a 16-hour curfew in ten local government districts.
The statement was made accessible to evening by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Dr. Sulaimon Olanrewaju.
According to the statement, the curfew will be in place starting Wednesday, June 24, 2026.
It further stated that the curfew will be in effect from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. for the first 48 hours.
The affected local government areas are: Oriire (Headquarters: Ikoyi-Ile), Orelope (Headquarters: Igboho), Irepo (Headquarters: Kisi), Saki West (Headquarters: Saki), Saki East (Headquarters: Ago-Amodu), Atisbo (Headquarters: Tede/Ago-Are), Itesiwaju (Headquarters: Otu), Iseyin (Headquarters: Iseyin), and Olorunsogo.
