Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has nominated Dr. Aminu Garba Magashi as Co-Chair of the Kano State Anti-Drug Abuse Task Force.
Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the governor’s spokesperson, confirmed the appointment in a statement on Monday.
According to the announcement, the appointment shows the administration’s commitment to increasing collaboration with civil society organisations, public health professionals, and other key players in addressing the growing problem of substance misuse, particularly among young people.
The governor stated that the action is part of his administration’s overall aim to create a safer and healthier society by addressing the core causes of drug misuse.
“The appointment reflects the administration’s determination to strengthen collaboration with civil society organisations, public health experts, and relevant stakeholders in addressing the growing challenge of substance abuse, particularly among young people,” the statement stated.
