Sheriff stated that Tinubu has accomplished much and wishes for Nigeria’s prosperity, and that the president desires state independence.

The former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) revealed this while appearing on Channels Television’s Politics Today.

According to Sheriff, “What President Tinubu did in this country to ensure this country’s progress, if you don’t give him credit, you shouldn’t condemn him.”

“If Tinubu had announced there would be no fuel subsidies and they had not revolted, Nigeria would not have paid its bills for the month. Not only that, but he gave the money to the states rather than keeping it for himself.

“Google and see the top ten state allocations; some states receive up to N55 billion in a single month.

“During my eight years as governor, I received almost N150 billion. Tinubu accomplished a lot; he wanted the country to flourish and the state to be free.

“Talking about insecurity, yes it’s the responsibility of the Federal government but what you don’t realise it that it’s also the responsibility of the state under the concurrent list, the state has the responsibility of security.”
