Rotimi Amaechi, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) vice presidential candidate, has responded to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike’s claim that Atiku Abubakar chose him as his running mate for financial reasons.
In an interview with Channels Television’s ‘Politics Today’ on Tuesday, Amaechi stated that he does not respond to his subordinates.
During a media briefing with selected journalists on Tuesday, Wike stated that Amaechi had no political value in Rivers.
Amaechi replied, “I don’t respond to my subordinate. Wike never hired me. By the time I finish mourning and start campaigning, anyone who insults me will be insulted back.”
It should be noted that Amaechi was a presidential candidate for the African Democratic Congress (ADC), but lost to Atiku Abubakar in the party’s primaries.
Following the exercise, Atiku approached Amaechi, and the ADC named Amaechi as his running mate for the 2027 general elections.
