Tinubu should’ve told Nigerians that the APC would fight against the ADC, PDP, and others, according to Amaechi

Rotimi Amaechi, the African Democratic Congress’ presidential running mate, has stated that President Bola Tinubu should have reassured Nigerians that his party, the All Progressives Congress, APC, will compete with the ADC, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and other opposition parties in the 2027 elections.

Amaechi said Tinubu should have informed Nigerians that the APC will compete on a same footing with the ADC, PDP, and other political parties in the 2027 elections.

He remarked while appearing on Channels Television’s Politics Today, when he confronted Tinubu on his remarks during his meeting with the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria.

During the meeting, Tinubu declared that everything is fair in politics.

In response to Tinubu’s comment, Amaechi questioned whether it was fair if thugs killed people during an election.

He responded, “Look at the president’s assertion that everything is fair in politics; if a thug grabs a pistol and shoots me while I’m voting, is that fair?

“I just listened to him now; you know I study literature; the moment a writer finishes his work, whatever extra comment he makes is interpretation; he has the right to interpret his books, and I have the right to interpret his book.

“So when the president has said to you all is fair in politics, when the Catholic Church is crying about the possibility of having an election that may not be fair, all the president needs to do is to reassure the country that APC, PDP, and ADC will slug it out on an even field, that it will be a free and fair election, let the best team wins.”
