Rauf Aregbesola, National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has slammed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for failing to attend and observe the party’s ongoing convention.
due to the ADC’s leadership issue, the electoral umpire has opted to skip the convention.
Aregbesola referred to the commission as a “illegal and criminal organization” during his statement at the convention, emphasising that the electoral body has been officially notified of its convention since 2025.
Aregbesola accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of engineering the party’s turmoil and urged international agencies to assist Nigerian opposition groups.
the commission recently stopped its certification of the ADC’s leadership under David Mark as authentic.
The decision sparked fury throughout the country, with opposition leaders and party supporters protesting in Abuja.
