Yahaya Bello, the immediate former Governor of Kogi State, has won the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary for the Kogi Central Senatorial seat in anticipation of the 2027 elections.

The primary election held on Monday featured two additional candidates.
The individuals who competed against him were the APC Diaspora Secretary, Momoh Obaro, and Ibrahim Yakubu Adoke.
This follows days of political turmoil and pervasive whispers inside party circles indicating that Bello’s vetting procedure may have faced issues, casting doubt on his eligibility for the election.
