Governor Mai Mala Buni has been designated as the exclusive candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Yobe East Senatorial District via consensus.
The primary election occurred on Monday at the Yobe State Arts and Cultural Centre in Damaturu, attended by numerous APC members, including Minister of Police Affairs Ibrahim Geidam, Senator Musa Mustapha, and APC State Chairman Mohammadu Gadaka, among others.
Senator Musa Mustapha of Yobe East Senatorial District proposed the resolution to endorse Governor Mai Mala Buni as the consensus candidate for the position, which was seconded by Hon. Lawan Shettima Ali, a member of the House of Representatives.
Ambassador Babagana Ajimi, the chairman of the APC Primary Election Committee for Yobe East, conferred the certificate of return to the APC Yobe East senatorial candidate.
Governor Buni, in his acceptance address, expressed gratitude to APC stakeholders in Yobe East, stating that his support as the exclusive senatorial candidate represents another opportunity to serve the populace with commitment.
The primary election was overseen by the Independent National Electoral Commission, headed by Resident Electoral Commissioner Abubakar Maaji.
