Boko Haram sets schools ablaze in Chibok

Suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP militants reportedly set fire to schools in Borno State, including primary and secondary schools.

The incident took place at Kautikari village, Chibok local government region of the state.

The development comes just a few weeks after students from Mussa Primary and Junior Secondary School in Askira-Uba were kidnapped for nearly a month and disappeared.

According to security sources, the attackers entered the town, which has been targeted several times, around 7 p.m. on Saturday.

Although no injuries were recorded, locals were forced to retreat into the jungle for safety.

A resident further stated that the terrorists invaded the area several months ago but did not destroy any public or private property.

Authorities in the state have yet to confirm the incidence at the time of reporting this article.
