INEC contributed to the destabilisation of the Labour Party, according to Representative Afam Ogene

Afam Ogene, a member of the House of Representatives, has claimed that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is involved in destabilising the Labour Party.

Hon Ogebe made this claim during an interview on ‘Politics Today’, a Channels Television program watched by DAILY POST, on Friday.

He said, “We’re Africans. If the witch cries at night and the baby dies in the morning, who killed him? When Peter Obi quit the Labour Party, they felt safe enough to do the right thing.

“We should criticise INEC for taking so long to return the party to those who should govern it.

“INEC has a hand in destabilising the Labour Party because in September 2024, the party’s stakeholders in Umuahia formed an interim National Executive Council led by Senator Nenadi Usman.”

“So why did it take INEC one and half years to recognise Nenadi Usman as chairman of the Labour Party?”
