Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, the Labour Party’s vice presidential candidate for 2023, has reiterated his earlier claims that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) lost the previous presidential election.
During an interview on Tuesday’s Politics Today on Channels Television, Datti made the assertion.
I say it again: the APC lost the 2023 election. He spoke about the Labour Party winning the election.
The courts had rendered a verdict, he conceded, but he insisted the decision ignored his version of events.
The courts are sovereign and can do anything they choose. He reassured them that winning elections was not necessary, explaining that the outcome might be upheld by the court.
Allowing the election results to stand could impact Nigeria’s democracy, Datti added, repeating his prior warning.
I warned the people of Nigeria that democracy would collapse if they let that election stand. In humility, I stand by that,” he declared.
While concentrating on undermining opposition parties, he claimed that the government was slacking off in crucial areas like security and the economy.
The main goal of this dictatorship, he claimed, has been to undermine other political groups.
He claims that instead of funding political disputes, Nigeria’s resources could have gone into bettering the lives of the people.
“They are engaged in other pursuits, neglecting their responsibilities to provide security and improve our economy,” he continued.
“This is not a legal procedure,” Datti replied when pressed for proof linking the ruling party to crises within opposition groups.
“This is not a legal proceeding. I am commenting on political matters. He assured everyone that they had proof.
The government’s performance, he added, proves his point.
“In terms of security, they have been unsuccessful. Our lives have not been improved by them. “That is sufficient,” he declared.
Datti stated that people’s ability to have their own opinions regarding the election result is unaffected by the court decisions.
