The All Democratic Alliance, or ADA, has rejected the recent decision of the Federal High Court in Abuja regarding its leadership dispute.

In a statement issued on Tuesday by its National Publicity Secretary, Leye Igbabo, the association condemned the judgement as an attempt to transfer over management of the association to persons who no longer belong to the group.

This happened a day after the court ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission, or INEC, to provide the party registration access code to the Chief Akin Ricketts-led group.

ADA stated that it has already directed its legal team to contest the judgement before the Court of Appeal, and that it is seeking an immediate stay of execution to prevent the ruling from being enforced.

It further stated that if the court’s decision is adopted, it could disrupt a previously completed registration procedure and cause uncertainty within the association’s leadership structure.

“To be clear, the Court did not order the Independent National Electoral Commission to register the All Democratic Alliance as a political party. Rather, the Court ordered INEC to disclose the registration access code to Chief Akin Ricketts so that the registration process could resume.
