The All Progressives Congress (APC) has chastised the African Democratic Congress (ADC), accusing it of being responsible for its own internal issues and propagating conspiracy theories.
In a press release issued on April 2, 2026, APC National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka stated that the ADC had failed to handle its affairs and should not blame others for its problems.
“Quite apart from being an assembly of Nigeria’s most confused and desperate politicians, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has distinguished itself as a peddler of rabid conspiracy theories about what the All Progressives Congress (APC) is or is not doing to undermine the party,” Morka said.
He went on to critique the ADC’s structure and foundation, calling it inherently defective.
“The ADC is a party that never existed. It was designed as a kamikaze weapon with a ‘follow-come’ self-destructive detonation. It had to unravel, and it is now unwinding rapidly by installment,” he continued.
Morka also addressed the party’s leadership struggle, accusing a side led by David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola of breaking internal regulations.
“When it’s factional leadership under the duo of David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola parachuted into the party like thoughtless, planless commandos and hijacked the party in violent violation of its constitutional stipulations regarding leadership succession and in disregard of the rule of law, the ADC set its own date with destiny,” he said.
The APC spokesperson backed the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) decision to revoke recognition from the factional leadership, claiming it followed correct legal process.
He argued that the ADC’s attempt to blame the APC for its internal crisis was incorrect, and that the party was solely responsible for its own situation.
Morka also stated that the ADC’s inability to handle its challenges raises concerns about its ability to govern.
“Our great party and the administration of President Bola Tinubu remain steadfast in delivering on the Renewed Hope Agenda and strengthening democratic institutions for the peace, unity and prosperity of all Nigerians,” he said.
