Tosan Blankson, Rivers Angels’ head coach, has accepted entire responsibility for his team’s disappointing season.
The Port Harcourt club failed to win the 2025-26 Nigeria Women Football League, or NWFL.
Rivers Angels also missed out on the opportunity to defend their President Federation Cup championship.
Robo Queens eliminated them from the competition in the quarterfinals.
Blankson stated that his squad underperformed in both competitions.
“Unfortunately, I did not end the season well with the Rivers Angels,” Blankson said in a media interview.
“I take full responsibility for not achieving the right result.”
Blankson, on the other hand, is optimistic about the 2026-27 season.
“A new Chapter is loading, Apologies to the fans and people of Rivers State,” he added.
