Court remands 35-year-old guy for alleged burglary in Ekiti

A Magistrate Court in Ado-Ekiti has ruled that Ahmed Tijani, a 35-year-old man, be remanded at the Ado-Ekiti Correctional Facility for alleged burglary and theft.

The prosecutor, ASP Yomi Osuolale, told the court that there is probable cause to detain the defendant, who is reasonably suspected of committing the charges against Odin Oluwatosin, Obayemi Feranmi, Dada Emmanuel Ibukunoluwa, Babatope Goodness, Odianoween Blessing, Bayesewa Glory, and others.

According to the prosecutor, the alleged acts are punishable under Sections 322(a) and (c), as well as Section 302(1)(a) of the Ekiti State Criminal Law, 2021.

He added that the incident took place on February 10, 2026, at approximately 3:30 a.m. in the Oye-Ekiti Magisterial District.

ASP Osuolale informed the court that more investigation was necessary and that the case file had been referred to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for legal advice. He urged the court to grant the remand application.

In his verdict, Magistrate O. F. Bamidele ordered that the defendant be held in custody for legal advice from the DPP.
