The African Democratic Congress (ADC), led by David Mark, has removed Nafiu Bala Gombe, the party’s former Deputy National Chairman, and Leke Abejide, a House of Representatives member.
The decision was made at the party’s National Congress in Abuja on Tuesday.
Kenneth Ehiator, Stella Chukwu, and Elias Adiukwu are among those who have been evicted by the ADC led by Mark.
Despite accusations that he resigned as Deputy National Chairman, Nafiu Bala Gombe insists that he is the party’s actual National Chairman.
On Thursday, he marched with Abejide to the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and asked that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, and David Mark leave the ADC.
Bala accused the politicians of seeking to seize the party.
A lawsuit brought by Bala resulted in INEC’s decision to de-recognize the David Mark ADC leadership.
