I’m terribly disturbed—Kwankwaso wants swift rescue of abducted Oyo students

Rabiu Kwankwaso, former Kano State governor and 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has raised worry about the prolonged captivity of kids and teachers taken from schools in Oyo State’s Oriire Local Government Area.

Kwankwaso called the situation as troubling in a statement made on his X account on Monday, stating that the victims had been held captive for a lengthy period of time and had been unable to spend recent holidays with their families.

He asked the administration to make their rescue a top priority and take prompt action to avoid similar incidents in the future.

Kwankwaso emphasised the need of Nigeria overcoming its security difficulties, stating that the dignity and sanctity of every human life must be preserved.

He stated, “I am deeply disturbed by the ongoing plight of the abducted students and teachers kidnapped from schools in the Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.”

“Like many other victims still in captivity, they have faced protracted hardship, missing priceless occasions such as recent celebrations with their families and loved ones.

“It is critical that the government prioritises their rescue while also taking proactive steps to prevent similar catastrophes in the future.

“Nigeria must break free from the grip of insecurity. “Every human life’s dignity and sanctity must be protected.”
