The Niger State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has charged its candidates for the 2027 general elections to focus on issue-based campaigning and embrace inclusive leadership as they receive certificates of return.
Hon. Aliyu Halidu Mohammed, the party’s State Chairman, delivered the charge while handing certificates to candidates who won the primary polls.
He asked the candidates to preserve the PDP’s objectives by transporting party executives, stakeholders, supporters, and loyalists throughout the state as campaigns gain traction.
Mohammed also emphasised the need of the candidates maintaining good working connections with the party structure, namely the 25 local government chairmen and ward chairmen, characterising grassroots mobilisation as key to the PDP’s victory in the 2027 elections.
He believes that working with the party structure would promote unity, increase mobilisation, and boost the party’s chances at the polls.
The state chairman also urged party members, sympathisers, and stakeholders to stay unified and committed to the common goal of returning power in the state.
“The enduring strength of the PDP lies in its unity, discipline, and unwavering dedication to providing purposeful leadership for the people of Niger State,” he stated.
Senator Zainab Kure, a PDP stakeholder and former First Lady of Niger State, also spoke and praised the party’s flag bearers for their dedication and devotion.
She acknowledged that running against the ruling party in opposition is never easy, but urged the candidates to stay steadfast, motivated, and prayerful as they prepare for the 2027 general election.
