Sealing of Falomo Mosque hours before Eld Kabir celebration is provocative – MURIC confronts LABSCA

The closing of the Falomo Mosque in Lagos State’s Ikoyi district has been criticised as provocative and unjust by Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC).

MURIC announced the announcement in a statement signed by Executive Director Professor Ishaq Akintola.

In his statement, Akintola decried the agency’s actions.

He stated that the mosque was set for Eid-el-Kabir prayers on Wednesday.

Akintola also urged the Lagos State Government, led by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, to promptly reopen the mosque.

He stated, “The Lagos State Building Control Agency (LABSCA), a government parastatal under the Lagos State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, sealed off Falomo Mosque in Ikoyi this afternoon.

“We demand the immediate removal of the seal on our mosque.

Every required document has been obtained for the construction. We also ask His Excellency, Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, to intercede.”
