The All Progressives Congress (APC) currently governs 29 of Nigeria’s 36 states, based on a geographical analysis of party dominance throughout the federation.
The APC currently dominates all six states in the South-South: Delta, Akwa Ibom, Edo, Cross River, Rivers, and Bayelsa, achieving a complete victory in the oil-rich region.
The party has solidified its dominance in the North-Central region, with Benue, Niger, Kwara, Nasarawa, Kogi, and Plateau all under APC control, resulting in a 6–0 outcome for the party.
In the South-East, the APC governs Enugu, Ebonyi, and Imo states, while Abia is under the Labour Party (LP) and Anambra is administered by the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), resulting in the APC holding three out of five states in the region.
The APC retains supremacy in Lagos, Ekiti, Ogun, and Ondo states in the South-West.
Oyo is presently administered by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), whereas Osun is ruled by the Accord Party, resulting in the APC controlling four of the six states in the region.
The APC governs the states of Borno, Yobe, Taraba, and Gombe in the North-East.
Adamawa and Bauchi continue to be governed by the PDP, resulting in the ruling party controlling four out of the six states in the region.
The North-West continues to be a bastion for the APC, with Katsina, Jigawa, Sokoto, Kebbi, Kaduna, and Kano under its dominion.
Zamfara is the sole exception, presently administered by the PDP, resulting in the APC controlling six of the seven states in the region.
