Colonel Apollonia Anele, Acting Director of Army Public Relations, stated explicitly that the advertisement was fake, fraudulent, and did not originate from the Nigerian Army.
“The public is thus advised to disregard the bogus advertisement. Prospective applicants should not apply to, patronise, or pay any individual, group, or website purporting to recruit for the Nigerian Army, according to the statement.
It emphasised that all recruitment and commissioning processes are completely free, transparent, and merit-based, and that official recruitment announcements are only made through national newspapers, the Nigerian Army’s verified social media platforms, and other recognised official communication channels.
According to the statement, no forms are sold, and no person or agent is authorised to facilitate recruitment or demand payment at any point during the process.
“Those who committed this criminal act are advised to stop immediately. “Security agencies have been activated to identify, arrest, and prosecute all individuals involved in creating, circulating, or using the fake advertisement to defraud innocent Nigerians,” it stated.
According to the statement, anyone found guilty will face the full force of the law, and the Nigerian Army remains committed to maintaining the integrity of its recruitment process, urging the public to verify all recruitment information only through official Nigerian Army channels.
It recommended members of the public to report any suspect recruitment operations to the nearest military formation or security agency.
