Tinubu has not abandoned Bola Oyebamiji—Oyintiloye

Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, an APC chieftain in Osun State, has reaffirmed President Bola Tinubu’s support for Bola Oyebamiji, the party’s governorship candidate in the August 15, 2026, election.

Oyintiloye spoke on Sunday in Ibokun, Obokun Local Government Area, refuting claims that the President and Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, had abandoned Oyebamiji.

Addressing media during a campaign tour of towns in the Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency, he dismissed the story as untrue and the work of desperate opposition groups looking to cause division within the APC.

According to him, “President Tinubu and Oyetola remain fully committed to the party’s success in Osun and are closely monitoring the campaign while providing the necessary political leadership and strategic support for victory.”

“President Tinubu and our commander, Oyetola, have never wavered in their support of Oyebamiji.

“Anyone who claims differently is propagating falsehoods to deceive the public. “The APC remains unified, focused, and determined to reclaim Osun.”

The former legislator stated that the party’s leadership at the national and state levels were working hard to deliver Osun to the APC, and advised party members not to be distracted by misinformation.

He further stated that important party officials in the state, such as Chief Bisi Akande, the National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru, and the state chairman, Tajudeen Lawal, were devoted to ensuring the party’s triumph and were working around the clock.

He asked party members in the 30 local government areas and the Area Office to increase grassroots mobilisation, engage voters, and showcase the Tinubu and Oyetola administrations’ accomplishments alongside Oyebamiji’s development plan.

Oyintiloye also warned the opposition against engaging in violence, intimidation, and other types of lawlessness that could undermine the democratic process.

“Maiming, extrajudicial killings and other forms of politically motivated violence aimed at creating fear and suppressing the will of the people must be firmly rejected,” he stated.

He also emphasised the importance of an issue-orientated campaign based on genuine ideas and viable solutions, as well as voters’ freedom to exercise their rights in a peaceful environment.
