Craig Burley, a former Chelsea player and current TV pundit, has expressed his thoughts on Brazil following their 1-1 draw with Morocco in the FIFA World Cup.
The five-time world champions did not perform to their full potential in their first match of the competition.
Mohamed Ouahbi’s squad started the match strong, grabbing the lead in the 21st minute. PSV Eindhoven’s Ismael Saibari managed to chip Alisson Becker, giving the African champions an early lead.
Vinicius Junior levelled the game for Brazil in the 32nd minute with an outstanding individual performance. Nevertheless, Morocco outperformed Brazil throughout the game.
Burley criticised Brazil’s lacklustre opening performance, claiming that the Selecao does not represent a danger to its opponents.
According to ESPN FC’s X report, the former Chelsea midfielder stated that “[Brazil] don’t scare anybody.” “They have moments, but they don’t scare you.”
Brazil is in Group C with Morocco, Scotland, and Haiti, and is expected to easily move to the knockout rounds.
A victory over Morocco would have substantially increased their chances of finishing first in the group.
