Arsenal have agreed to trade defensive midfielder Christian Norgaard to Everton ahead of Bruno Guimaraes’ arrival at the Premier League North London club.
According to The Athletic, Norgaard appears to be leaving Arsenal as Mikel Arteta’s side closes in on a deal to capture Guimaraes from Newcastle United this summer.
According to the source, Arsenal wants to improve their midfield options before the new season begins, and they have agreed to pay Everton £7 million for Norgaard’s transfer.
Norgaard joined Arsenal from Premier League team Brentford a year ago for an initial cost of £10 million.
Last season, the Danish star struggled to find minutes in Arteta’s team, making only 20 appearances in all competitions.
The 32-year-old started only one Premier League game as Arsenal won their first title in 22 years.
