A major political personality who could challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 elections is Hakeem Baba-Ahmed of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), according to Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, the 2023 vice presidential candidate of the Labour Party.
On Tuesday, while appearing on Politics Today on Channels Television, Datti made the comments.
He claims that, despite Hakeem Baba-experience and Ahmed’s political clout, many have failed to recognise his true potential.
“Dr. Hakeem and PRP pose the greatest threat to Tinubu 2027,” he declared. “No one is familiar with him. He was underappreciated by them. He is serious.
Datti then went on to praise Baba-Ahmed’s credentials, calling him an experienced intellectual and public servant.
All the records show that he climbed the ranks. His motivation is not financial. The man is serious about his work, he added.
He went on to argue that the APC erred in its assessment of Baba-Ahmed and that the party should have known better.
APC committed a grave error of judgement. According to him, they have no idea who Hakeem is.
