The electoral body has produced a list of four candidates who will compete for the empty Senate seat representing the district.

INEC has cleared four candidates: Halilu Onda Enyulu-Uza of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Maku Labaran of the Labour Party (LP), John Paul Aaraneshi of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), and Emmanuel David Ombugadu of the Peoples Democratic Party.

The release of the final list marks the start of the last phase of by-election preparations, with political parties likely to ramp up campaigning across the five local government areas that comprise the senatorial district.

INEC previously informed stakeholders of its commitment to delivering a free, fair, and credible election in accordance with the Electoral Act and established electoral standards.

The Nasarawa North Senatorial District includes Akwanga, Wamba, Nassarawa Eggon, Kokona, and Nasarawa Local Government Areas.

With the revelation of the final list, the focus switches to the campaigns and the eventual battle at the polls on June 20.
