The Bauchi highway crash claimed seven lives and injured five

The deadly road incident along the Bauchi-Maiduguri Highway on Saturday resulted in seven fatalities and five injuries of varied degrees, according to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).

According to the Sector Command of the FRSC in Bauchi, a commercial Galaxy Sharon bus with registration number KRF 198XA and a MAN diesel dump truck without a registration number were involved in the collision, which happened in Kajutu village in Bauchi State.

The command states that the crash occurred at approximately 12:05 p.m. Rescue workers arrived at the location at 12:22 p.m., and it was reported to the FRSC two minutes later.

According to the FRSC, its rescue team transported the corpses of the dead and the injured to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH), Bauchi, where the deaths were confirmed and the injured were being treated.

Former politician Senator Isah Hamma Misau responded to the tragedy by offering his sympathies to the families of the deceased and the Misau community, calling the event “heartbreaking.”
