Finidi George, Rivers United’s technical adviser, has reacted to his team’s home triumph over Kun Khalifat FC.
The Port Harcourt club recaptured first place in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) with a thrilling 4-2 victory over Kun Khalifat at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt on Sunday.
Rivers United’s Iyowuna Douglas scored twice, while Aniekeme Okon and Handsome Surveyor scored once each.
Sunday Adehi scored twice for the away side.
Finidi stated that his squad nearly paid the price for failing to convert opportunities earlier in the game.
“In the first few minutes of the game, we had a couple of opportunities that we did not take. “You know when you have opportunities like this, you have to score,” Finidi remarked after the game.
“I can’t accomplish the job on my own; we frequently discuss scoring goals. You must generate opportunities for yourself to score, and when you do not score, it gets harder.”
