I am interested in the activities of the Oyo PDP and the survival of the party – Wike

Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has revealed that he is keenly monitoring developments inside the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State.

Wike noted that his interest in the subject stems from his concern for the party’s future survival and strength, having previously governed at the federal level.

He stated this on Monday in Abuja while addressing attendees at the PDP’s 105th National Executive Committee meeting.

According to him, his continued observation of developments in the Oyo State chapter is motivated by a desire to see the party grow.

“Let me be clear about my interest: I am interested in the survival and success of this party. I’m also interested in what’s going on in the Oyo State PDP. “That is all I am interested in,” he stated.

Wike also denied charges that PDP members were being intimidated, claiming that such assertions were no longer valid following recent judicial decisions.

“Who will intimidate us until the end? Some of us, by God’s grace, cannot see what anyone can threaten us with.

“The legal battle has ended. “They have no choice but to recognise the Caretaker Committee,” Wike stated.

His remark came amid tensions with Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde. The erstwhile allies split off and formed rival factions.

Last November, Makinde and Governor Bala Mohammed’s side held a national convention, which was later annulled by the Federal High Court in Oyo State.
