Reno Omokri, the Nigerian ambassador to Mexico, has labelled the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as a professional gang of jumpers, emphasising that they must accept responsibility for their deregistration by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Omokri claimed that the David Mark-led group of ADC generated the current problem on their own and should not blame anyone else.
He made the comment in a statement titled “INEC De-registration: ADC Professional Party Jumpers Have Only Themselves to Blame.”
Omokri stated, “I read the statement from the spokesperson of the David Mark group in the African Democratic Congress who rejected how INEC interpreted the March 12, 2026, Court of Appeal ruling, and I was expecting them to share their own interpretation of that judgement.”
But nothing came up, which makes no sense. The David Mark gang from the ADC definitely manufactured this calamity on its own.
“If they decide to challenge the decision, the David Mark organization should respect the Court of Appeals’ ruling since they are required to observe the law.
“The David Mark group’s attempt to incite public resentment against INEC and weaken electoral authorities is a hazardous and desperate move.
“You shouldn’t throw the baby out with the bathwater. Unfortunately, the ADC’s current terrible predicament was not unexpected.
“Their transition to the ADC was motivated by commercial considerations more than a genuine sense of democracy.
“Instead of criticising the INEC or accusing the All Progressives Congress of manipulating the INEC via tele-guidance, the David Mark gang from the ADC should recognise that they purchased a defective product.
“They should either rectify the faults with what they bought or join another political party. With elections only ten months away, I don’t believe they have enough time to form a new party from scratch.
