Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has responded to a popular slogan claiming that he will serve only one term.
Yusuf stated that he would serve one term with the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and a second term with the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a video, the governor addressed a group in response to the Hausa ‘Falle Daya’ (One term) slogan directed at him.
He stated: “There is only one term in the NNPP party. We will complete the second term in the APC.
“As for the ADC party that they have returned to, it will not even do one term, not ever.”
Yusuf recently switched from the NNPP to the APC amid a political issue with his estranged political godfather, Rabiu Kwankwaso.
In announcing his defection, the governor stated that it was made “in the best interest of the people of Kano state”.
Yusuf resigned from the NNPP before to his defection, citing “deepening internal crises” and “prolonged leadership disputes.”
