According to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Nigeria’s democracy has been reduced to vote buying.

Atofarati Sanya, the party’s spokesperson in Ekiti State, made the claim in an interview with Arise Television on Saturday night.

He was reacting to the 2026 Ekiti state governorship election, which was held across the state on Saturday.

The state PDP spokesman further claimed that the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its members were witnessed exchanging votes.

“Democracy in Nigeria has been reduced to the trading of votes, which violates the election laws.

“What we’ve seen in Ekiti state is sad and awful. The APC had unchecked access to polling stations.

“It’s unfortunate security authorities were present and could not checkmate these abnormalities,” he stated.
