Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, a former member of the State House of Assembly, has been suspended indefinitely due to suspected misbehaviour, according to members of the All Progressives Congress (APCC) in Ward 01, Ibokun, Obokun Local Government Area, Osun State.
The decision was made in a letter dated Thursday, January 29, 2026, and sent to Tajudeen Lawal, the party’s chairman for Osun State.
According to the paper, “the suspension followed a meeting of ward executives, leaders and members who reportedly deliberated on issues said to be affecting unity and cohesion within the ward.”
The letter, which was jointly signed by five leaders and eighteen ward executives, accused Oyintiloye of stealing N5.6 million in finances and an Executive Assistant (EA) position without permission.
“The funds were originally allocated for ward leaders, alleging that Oyintiloye had already secured a personal EA slot through a third party while holding a federal appointment,” according to the signatories.
Additionally, they said that the former lawmaker was “involved in activities capable of causing division within the ward, including the organisation of parallel meetings.”
In addition, the ward officials accused him of “prolonged absence from ward meetings and political activities for over three years.”
The letter additionally cited a lack of financial or material contributions to ward activities despite benefiting from many political posts.
It noted, “In view of the foregoing and his consistent lack of engagement and contributions to ward affairs, it has become necessary to take decisive disciplinary action.”
The ward leaders decided that, “Consequently, Hon. Bosun Oyintiloye is hereby suspended indefinitely from Ward One, Ibokun, and shall cease to represent the interests of the ward at any level.”
They, however, underlined that they remained open to intervention from party officials, reiterating that their goal was the unity and success of the APC ahead of future elections.
In a phone conversation with , Oyintiloye responded to the situation by calling the suspension a ploy by dissatisfied and suspended party members and dismissing it as bogus.
He argued that individuals who signed the letter were not recognised party executives, stating they were working for opposition interests in the state.
Oyintiloye refuted all charges against him, saying he neither owned the EA slot nor had access to the N5.6 million referenced in the letter.
“The allegations are lies aimed solely at discrediting me. I have reported the situation to the state party leadership.
“If they truly have the power to suspend me, why can’t they wait to do so through the proper party executive channels before going to the press?
Along with other unhappy members, the same Gbenga Fagbamila, who was expelled from the party for embezzling N7.5 million intended for the 2022 election, is signing my purported letter of suspension.
It is quite unfortunate. If they are actually bona fide members of the party, let them appear before the party officials at the state level to defend the allegations levelled against me.
“I am still a devoted and esteemed member of the APC, thus their move is a joke of the century.
“I also ask the public to ignore the alleged suspension,” he said.
