Anthony Sani, former Secretary General of the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), intimated on Friday that the North will not vote for Atiku Abubakar, the African Democratic Congress’ (ADC) presidential nominee, in 2027.
Sani added that the North believes in zoning and wants power back in 2031, thus they will not vote for Atiku in 2027.
Speaking with the ACF writer emphasised that the South would prefer to complete its eight-year tenure in accordance with the spirit of zoning.
According to Sani, if the North votes for Atiku in 2027, they will be accused of undermining the zoning setup.
He continued, “I’ve told you that the South wants to conclude their eight years in the spirit of zoning. As a result, southerners will not vote for former Vice President Atiku.
“And because the North values zoning and intends to deliver the President in 2031, northerners would not vote for Atiku lest they be accused of suffocating zoning.
