Kidnappers release pregnant woman and others following Igboho’s two-hour ultimatum

A pregnant mother, her children, and a brother were kidnapped in the Igboho community of Oyo State and freed hours after Yoruba nation agitator Sunday Adeyemo, also known as Sunday Igboho, gave a two-hour ultimatum.

On Saturday, Igboho issued a strong warning to Fulani community leaders in the community, requesting that the kidnappers release the victims within two hours.

The Yoruba activist also warned the troublemakers, citing the country’s escalating incidences of kidnapping and insecurity, particularly in the southwest.

In a viral video, Igboho, who spoke in Yoruba while addressing some stakeholders, can be heard accusing some Fulani members of kidnapping locals, referring to incidences involving a pregnant woman.

Igboho grieved that the robbers murdered someone who took a ransom from them.

“The person who brought the ransom, you still killed him and spared only one person,” Igboho raged, vowing that similar instances would not be repeated.

A few hours after Igboho’s ultimatum, a video clip appeared on social media showing community members welcoming the victims’ homecoming.

Although facts about their release are still hazy, it appears that the kidnappers obeyed Igboho’s warning and released the hostages.
