ADC has no specific rescue plan for Nigeria: Atiku’s ally, Aliyu, departs party and joins APC

Aslam Aliyu, an ally of African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, has left the party to join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a statement, Aliyu stated that the ADC did not have a definite rescue plan for Nigeria, and that her decision was based on extensive study on Nigeria’s political path and the opposition’s ability to deliver alternative administration.

According to her, she has worked relentlessly inside Atiku’s political camp for nearly two decades, and her commitment has never wavered during that time.

She did, however, emphasise that, after nearly two decades of dedicated involvement, it is absolutely obvious that the opposition lacks a comprehensive growth vision or a credible and durable national rescue strategy.

“The ADC has no specific agenda for the country other than to attack the administration without proposing any feasible solutions. Political culture must transcend beyond theatre criticism and embrace measurable progress.

“I am a mother, calling on patriotic Nigerian youths, women, and forward-thinking opposition members to abandon counterproductive politics and join hands with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” she declared.

“There is no vacancy in Aso Rock Villa, as Bola Ahmed Tinubu will emerge as the winner of the presidential election come 2027, by the grace of Almighty Allah,” she stated.

The Zamfara-born lawmaker added that her defection was motivated by a desire to contribute more effectively to national development through an organised political platform.
