Dr. Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi, an APC senatorial candidate, filed the complaint against the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and Senator Sahabi Ya’u, the primary election winner.

During Friday’s court session, both the plaintiff and the defendants submitted their last written addresses.

After reviewing the submissions, the trial judge, Justice Hassan Dikko, delayed the case and set August 31, 2026 for judgement.

Shinkafi is asking the court to rule on the legitimacy of the APC primary election for the Zamfara North Senatorial District.
