An advisor to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) national chairman, David Mark, who is now in hot water with the media, Kola Ologbondiya, has stated that the party’s problems with INEC stem from the fact that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) does not desire a strong opposition.
Ologbondiya made the claim during an interview on Wednesday’s “Prime Time” on Arise Television.
Not long ago, the ADC was rocked by fresh turmoil, which led to the removal of David Mark, the former president of the Senate, from his position as national chairman.
“The APC does not want a viable opposition, and that is why the ADC has problems with INEC and party divisions,” Ologbondiya stated, expressing his personal opinion.
“The purported party crises are being orchestrated by special interests. The ADC leaders are merely threatening the president and others who are sowing discord with a day of reckoning through their protest.
Since we have made it to 2026 from the same year that our democracy began—1999—we should anticipate expansion rather than a decapitation.
“Regrettably, the current trend is moving away from multi-party democracy and toward a one-party state.”
