The Lagos State Police Command reported that 150 individuals were arrested and 100 unregistered motorbikes, guns, suspected stolen goods, and illicit narcotics were discovered during a coordinated raid on criminal hideouts in the state’s Igando and Idimu regions.
According to a statement issued on Monday by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, the operation, conducted as part of Operation KO S’AYE, targeted criminal hideouts at Boolar, Oko Filling Bus Stop, Igando, and other identified black spots along the Area M, Idimu axis.
According to the statement, the operation was carried out at 5:45 a.m. on Sunday based on solid intelligence, and the coordinated raid involved a joint team of operatives from several formations of the Lagos State Police Command.
“As part of the ongoing Operation KO S’AYE, the Lagos State Police Command has sustained its aggressive clearance operations against criminal hideouts across the state, in line with the Command’s commitment to ensuring that there is no safe haven for criminals,” the statement stated.
Exhibits recovered during the operation included 100 unregistered motorcycles, 54 mobile phones, one double-barrel gun, two single-barrel guns, one locally made double-barrel shotgun, two military camouflage uniforms, assorted charms, six generators suspected of being stolen, substances suspected of being Indian hemp, and various amounts of illicit drugs.
It further stated that all of the suspects are currently in police custody, with investigations underway to identify their individual involvement.
According to the statement, those found to have committed criminal offences will face appropriate charges in court.
