On Wednesday, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, accused Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara of abandoning governance.
According to Wike, the governor is aggressively pursuing his second-term agenda despite having yet to submit a budget to the Rivers State House of Assembly.
Wike spoke at a press briefing in Abuja.
The FCT minister expressed concern with what he described as the governor’s misdirected objectives.
“The governor is yet to submit his budget to the House of Assembly but he is busy running for second term ambition,” Wike stated.
Wike chastised Fubara for prioritising political campaigns and re-election efforts over important governing tasks.
The minister warned that the delay in budget presentation could jeopardise the smooth operation of government activities and the provision of key services to Rivers State residents.
