President Bola Tinubu has warned against allowing politicians who lack a clear vision to lead the country backward.
Tinubu made the warning on Sunday, when he was presented with the Certificate of Return and the flag of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the party’s candidate for the 2027 presidential election.
He promised to cement the reforms his administration has initiated, to work harder for the future Nigerians desire, and to set the country on an irreversible path during the next four years.
The president also emphasised his openness to engage in dialogue with political opponents and critics of his government.
He went on to say that democracy was founded not on uniformity of thought, but on diversity of ideas rooted in a common belief in the nation.
“We will not allow any opposition without a clear vision to push Nigeria backward.
“To those who despise our philosophy, we offer dialogue and engagement, not anger, confident that the sincerity of our purpose and the results of our work will speak for themselves,” he stated.
