Evans Ogenyi, Wikki Tourists’ technical adviser, expressed happiness with his team’s victory over Flight FC in the President Federation Cup quarterfinals.
The Bauchi Elephants overcame the Benue-based team 4-3 in a penalty shootout in Jos on Thursday.
The hotly contested match concluded 1-1 after regulation time.
Ogenyi described the triumph as hard fought, given their opponent’s determination.
“I must say I’m happy with the win, even if it came in a difficult manner,” Ogenyi told Wikki Tourists media.
“But all the same, victory is what is required in a game.”
Ogenyi, on the other hand, regretted his team’s lack of attention, which resulted in Flight FC’s late equaliser, and promised to work on addressing the mistakes before the next round.
The Wikki Tourists will meet El-Kanemi Warriors in the competition’s semi-finals.
