Two captives liberated by the 82 Division Task Force Battalion have disclosed that the terrorist encampment where they were detained has deteriorated due to ongoing military actions in Borno State.
This information was included in a message disseminated on X by security analyst, Zagazola Makama, on Friday evening.
The report indicates that the two victims were discovered roaming close to Armuda Bridge in the Gwoza Local Government Area at approximately 6:50 a.m. on July 16, during a standard security patrol conducted by troops.
The victims informed security officials in an initial debriefing that they fled from a terrorist stronghold in the Agapalwa vicinity by exploiting the chaos within the camp.
Makama said that the camp was allegedly rendered mostly ineffective due to a lack of competent leadership, as numerous terrorist combatants had either escaped or sustained injuries in previous military actions.
The article indicated that the testimonies of the victims corroborate intelligence assessments indicating that the ongoing efforts of forces involved in Operation HADIN KAI had considerably diminished terrorist strongholds in several regions of southern Borno.
The liberated captives are presently in secure confinement and will receive medical evaluations and additional debriefing to furnish intelligence that may aid current counterterrorism efforts.
